"To The Rhythm" film

Delighted to be able to share the short film I directed earlier this year, a mini documentary featuring ridiculously talented session drummer Chrisy Lopez. The film offers an inspiring glimpse into Chrisy’s journey to success in the music industry, whilst showcasing her incredible drumming and her unique approach and musicality that makes her drumming style stand out as so distinctive.

We shot across two locations, capturing Chrisy in her cocoon like studio and also in an urban underpass location, playing around with contrasting the clean studio sound with the distorted and reflected sounds of the underpass.

Thanks to the brilliant team who worked so hard to bring my initial concept to life, to Chrisy for giving us so much of her time and bringing her incredible drumming talents, Ed Andrews our fantastic DOP and Editor, Potion Soundworks for the beautiful sound design and Celso Marrero for assisting us all on location.
