portrait of mushroom forager by Lifestyle photographer Holly Pickering

New work from the second part of a major new personal project that I’ve been shooting over the last few months - Sustainable London.

Inspired by the charities and small businesses that are working to make the future of the food and drink industry more sustainable, my project aims to capture the people and communities involved in a range of enterprises across London and the South East.

We spent a day in the wilds of suburban Essex with professional forager and wild food teacher Ru Kenyon of London Wild Fruits, and unearthed an abundance of extraordinary edible and non edible mushrooms, and developed a newfound appreciation for the small pockets of wild greenery found on the edge of our urban environments that often go unnoticed.

Full story from this shoot , and the rest of the Sustainable London project is available on my folio website.
