Edible Botanicals

I’ve become obsessed with all things botanical during lockdown. Inspired by the edible Nasturtium flowers growing in my building’s communal garden I’ve just finished shooting this still life series of edible flowers, The series is a mash up of traditional floral photography with the intense colour and pattern that I’m craving at the moment, and also a chance to experiment with ideas for some record sleeve photography projects that I’m developing at the moment.

Quite often edible botanicals are just the garnish in drinks or food photography set ups, but I wanted to shoot them in a series of “hero” shots for a change as the breadth of colour and tiny intricate details are extraordinary.
